Gorgeously-shot documentary. I love stories of mountain climbing, likely because it's something I would never in the world do—it's fascinating. When Jimmy Chin taps the beautiful white granite wall, the thin "clink" tells you how unstable the rock is, and it was thrilling and terrifying all at once. I found the story told here to be riveting without being over the top. Someone in the reviews mentioned "manufactured drama", but I didn't feel that way. I thought the tone was low-key, determined and honest. It also illustrated the tactical side of climbing without being boring. Lostatsea93 said "Stop reading the reviews. Watch it now." I agree. I'm planning to rewatch this with my retired mountain-climbing father-in-law.

I think I have watched it about four times already. So cool to see a dream fulfilled, it feels like you are right there with them.

This is my favorite movie ever. It's so inspiring that they never gave up, even after everything that happened. It makes me dream bigger and makes me push myself harder. I've always wanted to do a first ascent like this and am slowly working towards my goal. - Kaya
